Hawaii Gruv is based upon the complex melodies and
rhythms of the Humpback's Winter Song with the drum 'n bass
components added to emphasize the Song's rhythmically precise
patterns. It was composed using a 3-minute sequence of the
Song which matched the drum beat without any adjustment of
timing or position.

Backwards Unfolding Includes
ambient sounds from southeast Alaska and ends with the calls
of Varied Thrush, recorded late one night on Baranof Island,
southeast Alaska.
